Terro 2 Step Ant Bait System Review & GIVEAWAY!

NEWS RELEASE

How to Get Rid of Ants: Bait, Wait and Eliminate

with TERRO’s 2-Step Process

It’s a fact of life. No homeowner is immune to the problem of ants. Whether they’re parading across your kitchen counter or ruining your backyard barbecue, ants are an unwelcome house guest. Now, TERRO, the leading manufacturer of ant control products for consumers, offers a simple “Bait, Wait and Eliminate” 2-step process to safely and effectively get rid of ants.

STEP #1 –Bait and Wait

“The first step to successfully controlling ants is to bait the worker ants – those that you see marching around inside your house – with liquid ant bait and then wait a few days. During the wait period, the ants will carry the bait back to share with the rest of the colony and the Queen.” explains Stewart Clark, director of research and development at TERRO. “While the insecticide in the bait will ultimately kill the worker ant, it works slowly enough that the worker has time to get back and share the bait with the colony. That’s the only way to get rid of both the ants you see and the thousands you don’t.”

Liquid baits are surprisingly simple in the way they work. TERRO liquid ant baits are made from a natural ingredient, Borax, which is safe to use around humans and pets, but is deadly to ants. As the ant foragers look for food, they are attracted to the sweet liquid in the baits. Unsuspectingly, they consume the liquid and carry it back to share with the colony. The result is the elimination of the colony - and your ant problems.

STEP #2- Eliminate by Creating an Outdoor Barrier

Since most ant infestations are linked to a colony that is actually located underground outside the house, the second line of defense is setting up a barrier around your house. Once a house has been baited inside for at least a week, begin applying TERRO Outdoor Ant Killer Granules around the perimeter of the house.

“TERRO’s Outdoor Ant Killer Granules are ideal as part of a 2-step ant control process,” says Clark . “We recommend using the outdoor granules in conjunction with liquid ant baits to eliminate ants inside and prevent outdoor ants from reinfesting.”

TERRO Outdoor Ant Killer Granules are packaged in a 3 lb. Shaker Bag™ and is designed to allow the granules to be easily distributed in a three- to five-foot band around the typical. No spreader is needed. Concludes Clark , “Remember, there are no quick fixes for an ant problem – you have to have patience, but the results are well worth it.”

I was happy to review Terro Ant Bait System because we have had an ant problem in the past at my home. A while back I noticed there were ants in my daughters closet coming into her room but I couldn't figure out where they were coming from, and why they would be there. My daughter doesn't eat in her room so I wondered why they were there, if there wasn't any food attracting them. I set some ant baits out and that helped, but ultimately we had to get the house exterminated because they wouldn't go away. Turns out they were carpenter ants, and were coming into the house through a vent off of a tree that needed to be trimmed. They exterminated and thankfully I haven't seen them since. But its better to be safe than sorry!

We've also had a problem with other pests. We live in a manufactured home, which is really a glorified trailer so pests have a lot of places to hide and enter in a structure such as this. I noticed after last fall/winter that a mouse had been in the kitchen and bathroom, also in my daughters room! It had chewed on things and left little droppings. Also there were some strange beetles that looked like stink bugs, I saw those a few times so we've had to get the house exterminated again since the ant issue. Thankfully the landlord pays for the extermination!

I like the Terro Ant Bait System because it is a two step system, and the ant baits use liquid insecticide. The ant takes the bait and it kills the ant slowly so that it can take the insecticide back to the colony and also kill those ants. First you set the Liquid Ant Baits around your home in the suggested spots, then you go to step 2 and spread the granular Ant Killer around the perimeter of your home (outside). This 2 step system ensures that the ants inside your home are killed, and that no more can enter the home.

If your having an ant problem or simply want to do some preventative measure I highly suggest using Terro Ant Bait system!
